Abstract
Abstract
Background and Objective: Border villages are considered among the disadvantaged areas of the country, and improving the conditions in these regions is essential for enhancing the sense of security among their residents. Economic and social security plays a significant role in national planning, and achieving and maintaining it requires the establishment of complex prerequisites and frameworks. Furthermore, the vulnerability or reduction of this security is dependent on various causes and factors. This study aims to assess the sense of social and economic security in the border villages of the Sangān district in Khaf County.
Research Methodology: This applied research is descriptive-analytical in nature and employs a survey method for data collection, using a questionnaire as the primary tool. The study area includes the border region of Sangān, specifically the Bostan and Pāyin Khaf rural districts, where data were gathered from the resident villagers. A sample size of 380 participants was calculated based on Cochran’s formula and was proportionately distributed and randomly selected among the studied villages. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the research team and a panel of experts, while its reliability was verified through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient.
Findings: The results indicate that the sense of security regarding economic indicators in the studied villages is not satisfactory. In contrast, the social indicators related to the sense of social security in the area are deemed appropriate.
Conclusion: Since the sense of security in both economic and social dimensions can lead to enhanced economic and social security in border areas, the findings of this study suggest that strengthening economic indicators can significantly contribute to improving the sense of security.
